Chez Montrachet, stunning, newly renovated 3 bdrm/3.5 bath village home, central Puligny-Montrachet
Chez Montrachet is a recently renovated, spacious village house over 100 years old located in the tranquil village of Puligny-Montrachet, where some of the finest white wine in the world is made.
The beautiful transformation has brought modern comfort into this house. The renovation displays beams that came from ship masts, exposed stone walls and the original tommettes (Burgundian tiles) dating back over a century.
The spacious rooftop terrace has a panorama across the village roof tops and also some views of the hillside Puligny vineyards. Alongside the terrace, a fully equipped summer kitchen decorated with original oak beams provides immensely enjoyable and easily managed atmospheric outdoor dining.
The sheer size of the house is evident when you step through the door on the ground floor where the two large rooms of over 40 sqm each are located. The entrance flows into a spacious open dining room and beyond sits a fully equipped, modern kitchen that will excite the most passionate of chefs.
The living room is full of comfortable seating, elegant artwork and is perfectly lit for reading and relaxing. There is even a large wood burner for guests in the ‘off season’ requiring warmth. Modern essentials include satellite TV, a Bose Bluetooth speaker and wifi throughout.

We had a wonderful 12-night stay in Chez Montrachet in April 2019. Puligny-Montrachet is a charming village with a number of good restaurants and excellent wine bars. It is a great base for exploring Burgundy – especially if you enjoy the gorgeous white wines from Cote de Beaune.
The house is very comfortable and well equipped, and provisioned with basic (and not so basic) necessities. It is beautifully furnished and has excellent wifi and heating. It includes a fully-equipped summer kitchen on the top floor so you can sit outside and enjoy an evening on the roof terrace. Beds are new and very comfortable and the house easily accommodates 6 adults (or a couple of families).
Steve and Jill are wonderful hosts and super-nice people. They were very responsive to any enquiries and extremely hospitable – they left us some milk, juice, bread, wine and local treats when we checked in and even invited us to their home for a delightful afternoon with some lovely wine and cheese!
A couple of small issues that are worth mentioning – the house is over 3 levels and the stone stairs are quite steep so could be tricky if you have mobility issues. The other one is that the house is next to the village church and the bells chimed every 30 minutes (day and night). Probably only an issue in warmer weather if you wish to have the bedroom windows open at night. Once we located the earplugs all was forgiven!
We can highly recommend Chez Montrachet and are certain that any of the other properties managed by Jill and Steve will be of an equally high standard.

A wonderful villa nestled in the finest wine country in the world.
We have visited wine countries all over the world—Napa and Sonoma; Central California; Australia and New Zealand; Chile and Argentina; South Africa; and, of course, various regions in Italy and France. But, I never enjoyed one as much as Burgundy. Great little villages, and wonderful wine and food. And, this villa was a perfect base for exploration. Nestled in a small village; next to a church (OK, the bells do ring every half hour); an old structure, but completely renovated. Perfect for couples or a family. It was just great.

Beautiful, spacious and well equipped
A stunningly renovated, spacious home in quiet Puligny only a few minutes walk from the vines. Easy parking in the adjacent church square. Ten minute drive to Beaune, or 15 minutes through the vines via Meursault, Pommard and Volnay.

“This is an excellent recently renovated property right in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet. It has a lovely, open plan modern kitchen and dining area set in traditional stone with a beautiful sitting room. Three modern bedrooms have the best walk in showers we've enjoyed anywhere. Everything is new and functions well, including laundry facilities in the basement and a great terrace at the top of the house. Su and David are great hosts and even leave a lovely bottle of Puligny wine in the fridge! A great stay in Puligny! A word of note: there are quite a few stairs so maybe not be suitable for those with motility problems- although it is beautiful!”

Chez Montrachet is absolutely gorgeous and incredibly comfortable. The town in which it is located has delicious restaurants and an amazing bakery. You can easily get to a few other adorable towns with only a short bike ride. There are lots of beautiful sights to see and delicious wine to taste.
The home itself is beautiful and will suit your every need. In each room there are many things to make you as comfortable as possible (including heated towel racks). There are two fully equipped kitchens, complete with dish washers and expresso machines. One is downstairs and one is located next to the beautiful rooftop patio. There is also a large living room to relax in, a laundry room with brand new machines, and 3 lovely bedrooms.
Chez Montrachet is simply luxurious and you will truly enjoy your stay.
